Free Second Opinion on Your Insurance Claim

Insurance estimates and denial letters are written by people who work for the insurance company. Before you accept the number — or give up on a denied claim — let a New York licensed public adjuster read it. Upload the estimate, denial letter or a few photos below. We check line by line what the carrier’s estimate missed, and within 24 hours we tell you, in plain language, what may be missing and whether it is worth doing anything about it. Free, no obligation, and your information stays with us.

Who this is for

  • You received the insurance company’s estimate and it looks low, or the contractor’s price is higher than what the carrier allowed.
  • You got a denial or a partial denial and want to know if it can be challenged.
  • You were paid, but the money will not cover the repairs, or new damage showed up once work started.
  • The claim has been open for months and is not moving.
  • You have a fire, water, smoke, storm, roof, mold or theft claim in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania or Connecticut, on a home, an apartment building or a commercial property.

What you get back

  • A line-by-line read of the carrier’s estimate or letter: which coverages and items look missing, under-counted or depreciated too heavily — so the claim reflects the full loss.
  • Whether a supplement, an appeal of a denial, or a fresh claim presentation makes sense in your situation.
  • An honest answer on whether a public adjuster would add value on your claim, and what it would cost (in New York, the fee is capped by law at 12.5% of what the carrier pays — nothing upfront).

How it works

  1. Upload. Fill in the short form below and attach the estimate, denial letter or photos (PDF or photo, up to 10 MB each). No documents yet? Describe the claim and we will take it from there.
  2. We review. A licensed public adjuster — not a call center — reads your documents against what a fire, water or storm claim in your situation normally includes.
  3. You hear back within 24 hours. By phone or email, whichever you prefer. You decide what to do next.

Had a large fire or a major commercial loss?

For commercial buildings, apartment buildings and major house fires, the gap between the first estimate and the full claim is usually the largest — and the sooner a public adjuster is involved, the better. See our Fire & Large Loss Claims page, or call 845-456-6699 now.

    Frequently asked questions

Is the second opinion really free?

Yes. Reading your estimate or denial letter and telling you what looks missing costs nothing and commits you to nothing. If the claim is one where we could add real value, we will tell you and explain how a public adjuster works. If it is not, we will tell you that too.

    What should I send?

The insurance company’s estimate (the line-item document, not just the check stub), any denial or partial-denial letter, a few photos of the damage, and a sentence or two about where the claim stands. If you have the declarations page of your policy, that helps, but it is not required.

How fast will I hear back?

Within 24 hours of receiving your documents. You will hear from a licensed public adjuster, not a call center.

Can I still get help if I already received a payment?

Usually yes. Accepting a payment is generally not the end of a property claim — a claim can be supplemented when damage was missed or underpaid, as long as you are within your policy’s time limits. Send us what you have and we will tell you where you stand.

What if my claim was denied?

Send the denial letter. Denials are often based on a reading of the policy or the cause of loss that can be challenged with evidence. We review the policy language the carrier relied on and tell you whether the denial looks worth fighting.

What does it cost if I hire you after the review?

Public adjuster fees in New York are capped by state law at 12.5% of what the insurance company pays, set out in a written contract before work begins. There is no upfront fee on GB Claims public adjusting claims.

    Is my information kept private?

Yes. Your documents are sent directly to GB Claims and used only to review your claim. We do not share them with contractors, lead services or anyone else.
